Our Story
A heritage home, kept alive by one family
Sussegado Souza lives inside a 150-year-old Goan-Portuguese house — high ceilings, a shaded balcão, worn wooden shutters and walls the colour of Goan laterite. It is not a themed restaurant. It is a family home that has simply kept its doors open.
Today the fourth generation of the Souza family runs the kitchen, cooking the same recipes their grandmothers did — slow, unhurried, and true to old Goa. Sussegado is the Goan word for that unhurried contentment, and it is exactly how a meal here is meant to feel.
